In the end when it comes to such trans-national issues, SG has
long been known to walk the fine line of not being neutral, and
still having an opinion.
Taking on refugees will also mean taking their baggage of
political problems with them.
So because of the faults of their politicians or whatever
power-hungry oppressors, the poor refugees.....become poor
refugees, with no place to call home.
I won't call SG a kind place, I won't say also that SG was right
in turning people who need help away.
The unfortunate reality is that we have a NIMB mentality because
we are afraid of jumping into the fray, for good or bad.
Ironically, SGreans were themselves chided by MIW for the said
mentality.
In the end, the world would be a so much better place if people
can let go or what they hold so dear...to the point of stopping the
creation of victims, albeit uncompensated ones. Such is the
situation of many heart-wrenching places in the world.
